sapporo museum
let me just come out and say it. i like beer. i mean, i really, really like beer. i don’t care if it’s budweiser, stella artois, coors, hite, mickey’s, bohemian, oranjeboom, pilsner urquell, michelob, chimay, or asahi. i love them all. i guess you can say i am a beer slut.
one of my favorites is sapporo, but not the kind you get in the states. that’s brewed in canadia, remember? in fact, i like sapporo so much, i had to pay a visit to its ancestral home in hokkaidou, sapporo.
the place is large, with many interesting exhibits and places to have picnic and such. when i went, as it is often with a city whose lattitude is shared by many russian cities, it was cold. as much as i thought sapporo was a pleasant city, besides the beer musuem and ramen yokocho(ラーメン横町), there’s not really much to do or see in the city. i suppose there is susukino, if you’re into that kind of “adult entertainment” (and who isn’t!), but that’s about it.
the best part of the musuem tour is when it’s concluded, you can drink as many sapporo and ebisu as your heart desires for about a buck or two(don’t remember… i was drunk) a glass! and they even give you a medallion of cheese and crackers.
anyway, here are some pics from the sapporo musuem.

she will be your guide for your tour. no smoking!

the indoor training facitlity of nippon ham fighters is right nearby.

well! a barrel shaped phone booth! isn’t that clever!

in the good ol’ days, folks drank out of bottles like these

kickass oldass sapporo adverts

MY favorite part. bring forth the restorative elixir, beer wenches! (sorry, i mean, “can i get another glass?)
